Things are really hopping with the Suarez family this holiday season. We've put our house on the market and plan to move across the country when it sells. Have you ever tried to sell a house? It's a challenge to keep everything sparkling and picked up. Ugh. I'm a real proponent of "good enough" housekeeping, but that doesn't work when trying to sell a house.
We're so busy, we haven't been thinking too much about Christmas gifts beyond those we want to get for our family. Even in the best of times, though, it's easy to miss someone when you're making a list of all the people you want to remember: friends, neighbors, family, the postman, Sunday school teachers, and so on.
I've been told that the best solution for last-minute gifts is to designate a closet, box, dresser drawer, or some other area for gifts and stock it as you spot sales. That's probably a great idea for someone who actually likes to organize, but I like to be more spontaneous (okay, actually, I just don't plan that far ahead-sigh). If you do keep a nice little stash of gifts you can pull out at the last minute, drop me a line and let me know how that works for you. What types of things do you buy ahead for last-minute gifts? And where do you store them?
Although gifts are a fun part of holiday celebrations, the best part of Christmas is remembering Christ's birth and His special gift when He died on the cross for us.
